Moore: Renovations to make library ‘even better’ |

The Kids Library will be featuring programming focused on kids favorite mode of transportation: trains! Look for a train celebration, train safety, a train display, and more at the Kids Library in September. Senior Series: Monthly daytime programs especially for the 55-and-older crowd crafts, entertainment, and social events to fit your schedule. Some things will remain the same but become even better, including: Book discussions: New this fall is a book club gathering at Wilder Mansion in which all area book clubs are invited for wine-tasting, treat-eating, and, of course, book-discussing. Technology programs: Over the past year, weve increased the number of programs to help you become more tech-savvy, including classes on Windows 8, WordPress, and Cutting the Cable Cord. Clubs: Well continue the casual drop-in programs, with interests based on knitting, cooking, speaking Italian, blogging, and more. With construction bids coming in August, the plan is to break ground in early October by replacing the wood in the main staircase with more durable stone-like flooring. The rest of the second-floor renovation will proceed in phases: Phase 1: Shifting the book collection; building a teen area, including an enclosed room for creative and scholarly work. Phase 2: Constructing a computer commons area, a business center, new small meeting rooms, and computer training lab. Phase 3: Installing a fireplace and magazine/newspaper reading and browsing area.
